Round 4 Day 1

As soon as everyone had gone to bed, a dark figure slipped out of the shadows and silently strolled down the hall as though they were on some sort of mundane errand and had all day to complete it. They stopped in front of a full-length mirror and tapped on the glass.

"Anybody home?" A whisper in a voice that sounded vaguely like a celebrity. Which celebrity...? The person on the other side of the mirror wasn't sure. They stayed hidden. They knew they couldn't possibly be needed yet.

The dark figure outside pulled off their scarf and wrapped it around their fist. A faint glow of light reflected off the mirror from a doorway down the hall, illuminating the murderous expression on the dark figure's face.

The person in the mirror decided to play for time. "How be you? How be you's eyes?"

The only response was a fist. Bits of broken mirror fell to the floor. Dugglyn, Reflection, watched helplessly as her gateway to the real world shattered and her only chance at existence with it.

It took the other Sanctuary members a little while to notice someone was missing, as Dugglyn was not in the habit of going to breakfast, and the janitorial staff had swept up the glass. However, a detail-oriented Junior Administrator by the name of Economical noticed the absence of the mirror and quickly worked out what it meant.

He was then burdened with the task of delivering the message. He called everyone together into the meeting room. "S-sorry to burst your bub-bubble, but... There was a murder last night."

Economical slipped out of the room to let everyone glance at other suspiciously, which they did.

Comment moderation has been turned off, and action results are being emailed out. You may use this space to talk and try to figure out who the Mafia members are. You are welcome to share any results you have from your night actions, and you are welcome to reveal your role, but be warned that doing so may make you the next target. If you think someone is the Mafia, you can vote for them to be hanged by typing "castvote [player name]." If someone reaches the majority, they will have 24 hours to defend themselves before the vote locks and they are hanged. The majority needed to send someone to trial today is 5. This is the same number needed to skip a day, which you can do by typing "castvote skip."

If the day is not skipped, you have until Wednesday, July 13th at 10 AM Pacific Time to discuss.

Players Remaining--

3. Snow
4. Jai
5. Kaden
6. Taia

*proud face*

*starts making my usual Mafia note with roles and players*
*does not have mcuh to work out yet, unfortunately*

No! Duggy!

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

Someone stopped me from doing my night action last night, either a leech or a magiphage.

Star Inkbright said...

Jai: *sympathetic and dismayed*

Me: *just glad it wasn't me*

And this is why you are nicer than me.

*waits for all the other players to trickle in so I can observe them and their reactions/results*

Star Inkbright said...

Right, so, if Jai's telling the truth:

- Jai is either the Hidden Mafia or not a member of the Mafia. More likely not, but then again, everyone is more likely not.
- There is either a Leech or a Magimage or both.

Good to know.

Taia, Raisin, A Good Bear :) said...

RIP Dugglyn :(
(Creative way to kill a reflection, though)

We can now forget about the neutrals list, which is nice.

Adra Cruciatus said...

NOOO! Dugglyn!!

(Also, FYI to everyone- I am in Florida this week with my friend from Kuwait but I will try to be actively helping!)

Adra Cruciatus said...

Wait, so I have a question, if that's alright. What is a "skip day"? Does that mean you decide to not vote for that day?

The Song Stuck In My Head said...

I keep reading Magimage as Magpie.

@Adra skip day just means that the night rolls around quicker. So if everyone's talked and shared what they want to share before the day normally finishes, you can vote to end it early.

Fabien(ne) Sauveterre said...

@Adra As Snow said, a skip day is when a majority agrees that nothing else can be accomplished that day. It could give the Mafia a bit of an advantage, because day phases may or may not be your only chance to get out the mafia (depends on who's on the rolelist). However, sometimes on Day 1, it makes more sense than standing around for no reason.

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

"Sounded like a celebrity"

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

Raven has yet to comment, as does Kaden and Fay

Raven Astracae said...

RIP Duggy

Raven has just got home from school, long story.

So we have no more neutral players.
If Jai is roleblocked again for no good reason tomorrow, hidden mafia is probably leech.
Is she's not roleblocked, the roleblock probably came from the Magipahge or the Leech.

That's the only information we have right now I think.

Honestly, that's the only information we have right now and most of its been said before. We probably shouldn't skip day until everyone has commented though because otherwise if they're trying to stay quiet, we give them what they want.

One Day More To Revolution said...

The magpie saga continues. y'know what? I'm just gonna call them magpies.

lets hope for a magpie and not a leech, I guess?

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

Magpie is, admittedly, an easier name for them.

A magpie would be more useful for us since then we could potentially stop the Mafia from from killing on some nights.
A leech is something we don't want because as positions become more obvious they could prevent the healer from helping anyone meaning we're all even more vulnerable.

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

Can anyone think of any reasons as to why Dugglyn might have been the target?

Taia, Raisin, A Good Bear :) said...

It feels most likely that whoever killed Dugg is probably Mevolent rather than hidden mafia (hidden would have to give up their night action, unless they're a necromancer, or maybe a vampire I guess. Seems more likely for Mevolent to carry out the kill?)

Not sure how that helps, though. Just a thought.

Taia, Raisin, A Good Bear :) said...

Dunno why Dugglyn, though. Seems like first kill tends to be quite random, so... *shrugs*

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

Actually I don't think first kills ARE that random.

Kaden was killed because he was Ravens friend.
In the round I was Mafia Lua died first because me and Lavender didn't really know her all that much.
I don't know what Dug's motivations were for killing Snow first in the first round, but most of her kills were random.

Maybe there is a reason behind Dug's kill?

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

Taia, Raisin, A Good Bear :) said...

I guess. Kaden was killed last round because no townies knew him, so he seemed least likely to be saved by the doctor + hence most likely to die successfully.

If that hadn't been the case, I think it would've been hard to see a strong reason for anyone in particular.

Maybe they went for someone they just thought was very good at the game. Idk. Dugg did /nearly/ win 3 games consecutively, so it might be down that route??

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

Maybe. That would suggest it's a more experienced player/someone who has done their research and read back.

Dugglyn Carzainia said...

(Guys I only just realized Magiphage is not Magpie. I've always pronounced it magpie as well, Snow!

Okay bye)

Adra Cruciatus said...

But like, who would that be?
Also, I agree with the Mevolent thing. (I think- it's hard for me to keep this all straight in my head!)

Wait, question- who/what roles ARE able to kill on night one? Can't some roles have to wait until after the first night?

Adra Cruciatus said...

Ok, and also- if Dugglyn is dead now, this means she can't comment, correct?

I mean... Hm. Has Dugglyn done well in past games? If so, that could be a motive. I faintly recall someone saying that Star did will in a previous game, but what about Dug?

Adra Cruciatus said...

The real question is- who here gets COLD easily?

Dugglyn Carzainia said...

(I can't say anything. But I think how I pronounce Magiphage as magpie is okay and answering your question because it's about the rules not that specific game itself are okay)

Adra Cruciatus said...

Oh! *Saw Sil's comment about Dugglyn* That makes sense. If she has done well in the past, maybe the mafia wanted to take her out first for that very reason.

Adra Cruciatus said...

(Alright! Thank you!)

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

Dug would have won the last game with me and Star because we knew that Raven was the final Mafia member but there was one night cycle left and Dugglyn was the one who died, and that was either chance or Raven blamed me for Taia being hung and had an interesting sense of revenge. It would have been her third win otherwise.

Adra Cruciatus said...

I really don't know if voting someone to be killed at the moment would be a good idea.. I mean, it would literally be a random shot in the dark, and I'd be anxious that we would accidentally kill one of our good guys :(

Dugglyn Carzainia said...

(Sorry idk what happened with my grammar up there. >.<
Okay bye.)

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

Honestly no one ever really gets lynched day one, it's just the day that people build up suspicion and figure out who they're going to target with their night action for the next night.

Adra Cruciatus said...

Oh, alright..
:( aw, I'm sorry, Dugglyn! It's okay, don't be sad!

Okay, that's how I was feeling. So, like, should we vote, or skip vote?
I might skip.. I just don't see any reason to blindly pick on someone

Star Inkbright said...

Yes, I agree that the killer was likely Mevolent.
Nobody else has seen any other evidence of any potential mafia action other than Jai and her encounter with the magleech, have they?

(Hey hey hey. Magleech or leechpie?
Might have to go with leechpie actually XD)

Then again, I guess no one would've.

As someone who's played the past few games and read the comments of the first game . . . yes, Dugglyn is very good at Mafia, and if I was the Mafia, she'd be one of the people I would want to kill soon.

I'm not going to vote for anyone tonight. I don't have enough evidence . . . I'd literally have to like, toss a coin. :P So skipping the day is fine wiht me.

Taia, Raisin, A Good Bear :) said...

Not 100% about skipping just yet.

We haven't heard from Kaden yet, have we?

Adra Cruciatus said...

Is this suspicious?

Adra Cruciatus said...

Has Fay?

Taia, Raisin, A Good Bear :) said...

Oh, you're right, I don't think Fay has either.

Not sure. People have reasoned in the past that being quiet means you have something to hide, but, I don't know. It could equally be timezones stuff or being-busy stuff or not-coming-online stuff or not-having-anything-to-say stuff, or just being-quiet stuff, so.... *shrugs* maybe a bit?

But, if either of them gathered some information they wanted to share, skipping the day could mean potentially missing the boat there. Idk.

One Day More To Revolution said...

they also may not be commenting because they don't have anything to contribute? idk but if it's their first game and they're townies, they might not think they can be very useful

Adra Cruciatus said...

I suppose, Taia, but it has also been 24 hours since this post was made.

I dunno if it would be wise to try to execute them, though. If they are innocent, well... Yeah. Perhaps they haven't realized that this post is up yet. Or maybe, something urgent has their attention.

But at the same time it is suspicious

So idk

Fay Scaevity said...

Hi! I'm here! And yeah, timezones and also being busy off the internet :P (and also what Snow said about feeling like I can't contribute anything, which is why I should probably make it clear that this comment is here just to show that I'm reading these comments)
Soz guys.

Kadenpix said...

Well I have no idea who mafia is but I know it is not me

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

Well at least now everyone has said something.

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

We could try figure out who the next target could be?
If Dug died because she's experienced at winning who could the next target from the Mafia be?

Raven Astracae said...

Maybe Star..idk?? But didn't she kinda have the winning role/discovery for the town in round 2 and then casted the deciding vote against the mafia in round 3?

Adra Cruciatus said...

Hmm... I don't know if it would be worth our while to try to guess. It would sort of become a Catch- 22. The mafia could totally make a rational decision based on previous games, but they could also just randomly pick someone. And since we don't know who the mafia are, it would be useless to try to guess what kind of a person they are.

I say we make a decision... Shall we skip a day, or hang someone?

Adra Cruciatus said...

Personally, I have made my choice.

castvote skip

I would be remiss to accidentally kill one of our good guys- the chances of actually choosing a mafia and not a good guy is too big at the moment

Adra Cruciatus said...

Though, I guess it won't matter, since there are only about 3 hours left of the day anyway

Adra Cruciatus said...

And PS: I am at Disney today
So I may miss the vote or decision or whatnot

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

Ah, I'm not trying to figure out so we can hang someone, there really is no point hanging someone on the first day because we could end up killing one of us, helping the Mafia.
