Mafia Round 5 - Possible Roles

This is just a post to give you all a reference for what could be in round 5. I've edited a few roles a little so even if everything looks familiar, please have a quick look through. If you think anything sounds too overpowered or odd, just mention it.

*****

Town

Townie - No special powers, just another vote for the town

Cop - Can investigate one person per night, receives a verdict of guilty for all Mafia except the Godfather, innocent for everyone else.

Doctor -  Can heal one person per night. That person can't be killed or converted by a vampire.

Twin
 - No special powers, but can have a night chat with the other twin and talk privately. There will always be exactly two or none at all.

Necromancer - (similar to coroner) has one chance per game to convene with the dead. May choose one dead player to receive information form at this point. Information given by the dead is limited to what they knew pre-death (doctors can tell who they healed, detectives who they investigated, ext. ), and they can only share the information received from one night action.

Monster Hunter - Can take the law into their own hands and choose one player to kill during the night. Limit two per game, can't do anything night one. Also can't shoot two days in a row

Busybody - Can watch one person per night. Will be notified if anyone (Doctor, cop, mafioso, etc) visits that person.

Mafia

Godfather - The Mafia's head honcho. Immune to cop investigations and roleblocks and can't be killed at night

Mafioso - No special powers beyond killing

Vampire - Can convert one person to the Mafia. The converted person will become a mafioso. Limit one conversion per game. Can also carry out the night's kill, but won't be able to transform someone the same night. If a player is converted, no killing can take place that night.

Role blocker - as the name would suggest, can block one person’s night action. Can also carry out the night's kill, but won't be able to drain anyone that night.

Ghost - Can possess one player per night, and select a target. The player will perform their action on the Remnant's target rather than their original target. Wants the town to be dead and wins with the Mafia, but does not know who the Mafia members are.

Framer - Can frame an innocent person so they will appear guilty if investigated or a guilty person so they'll seem innocent. Can also be chosen to kill someone, but will not be able to both kill and frame in the same night.

Neutral

Survivor - Has two immunity vests. Can't be killed at night if wearing one. Goal is to survive until the end. Can win with town or Mafia, but not with serial killer.

Serial Killer - Has two immunity vests. Can't be killed at night if wearing one. Can also kill one person per night. Goal is to be the last one standing.

Executioner - Will be assigned a random target at the beginning of the game. Goal is to get that target lynched.

Mafia Round 5 - The Snow Takeover

A cool wind blew through the town. The news had spread. The Supreme Galactic Overlord was on Holiday until further notice.

Everyone had been revived, miraculously, for the fifth time. All grudges held about earlier murders and tasteless killings had been forgotten. After all, what was a friendship without a little bit of murder?

Everyone had been revived...

Everyone, but one lone ghost.

The Supreme Galactic Overlord was on holiday. That meant no more random killings for a while. Or, at least, that's what people thought.

They were safe.

Somewhere, in the distance, one lone ghost laughed. Let Mafia round 5 begin.

*****

Signups for the next round of Mafia are now, officially, open! If you'd like to join in, just leave a comment before Sunday 31st at 4:00pm AUSTRALIAN time so I can send out everyone's roles before I go back to school the next day. I'm yet to decided the roles I'm going to include, but I will be drawing from all the different versions we've played so far. I'll make sure to tell you which roles are included when I decide.

That's all for now. Welcome to the Snow Stormberg Takeover.

Round 4: EPILOGUE

Over the course of the next few days, Mevolent and her minions killed the remaining Sanctuary members. Some of them, like Junior Administrator Economical, put up a fight, but it was futile. Raven had the speed, Snow had the enthusiasm, and Adra had the manipulative authority to make sure no one escaped.

They kept the cleavers alive, for now, because they obeyed Adra's orders and because they were a blood supply for both Adra and Raven. However, they'd be picked off one or two at a time, which Adra was fine with. She liked killing her subordinates, even if it meant fewer people to boss around. That brought her back to the task at hand. Her scarf was getting dull.

She lurked in a corner near the cleaver's cafeteria and waited. That one wouldn't do, too skinny. Those three were walking together and it wouldn't do to kill one in front of the others.

She was interrupted by a call from behind her.

"Hey Mev, you got a moment?"

"Do not call me Mev, Snow."

"Sorry, boss. It's just-- Raven's killing a cleaver without your permission."

Adra frowned "She already had one today."

"She says she needs another so she can be near that blood scarf of yours without wanting to kill you." Snow shrugged, as if to indicate that she thought this was just an excuse.

"I see," Adra said thoughtfully. "Well, let me know if you catch her at it again."

"Yes, boss!" Snow nodded enthusiastically and then skipped into the cafeteria, humming an oddly cheerful-sounding version of 'Empty Chairs at Empty Tables.'

Adra frowned contemplatively and then caught and killed a cleaver. After her snack, she went into her office.

*******

The next morning, Adra entered her office. Snow and Raven were there for their usual briefing. They didn't notice that she'd activated the outer lock before entering. It could only be opened with a code word. For good measure, she'd also reprogrammed it to ignore all Australian accents. The door was just a precaution, though. If this went well, and Adra was certain it would, they wouldn't e en get to the door.

Adra moved behind her desk, and gestured to Snow and Raven to sit in the two other office chairs she'd brought in. They looked confused--usually these meetings were done while standing.

"My back is bothering me, so I am sitting, and I can't have you two towering over me. That would be unacceptable."

They both seemed to find this explanation satisfactory. They sat.

Adra sat as well, in the chair behind her desk. "We have a couple of problems that need addressing."

"What sort of problems?" Raven asked. She didn't see any problems. Evil had prevailed, and there was still plenty of blood to go around.

"We're all running this place now, but I'm the one who did all the work. You're both just basking in my glory."

"I painted Star's house purple!" Snow protested.

"I helped!" Raven added.

Adra shook her head. "I did all of the manipulating and threatening. I did all of the killing. I really don't need either of you here."

*******

The ghost of Jai floated down the hallway. It was inconvenient being a ghost. You couldn't run, jog, or even speed walk. Every second felt like an hour. Every second could be a second too late.

*******

Snow realized what was going on a split second before Raven. She tried to get up and run, but a wire snaked out from the chair and caught her ankle, pulling her backward so she fell flat on her face.

Raven moved slightly later, but her vampire strength allowed her to break free of one wire. The second and the third were timed close together though, and she couldn't break through both. More wires went after Snow as well, and soon they were both sitting in their chairs again. There were no wires covering their eyes, noses, and mouths, but that was about it. They couldn't move, and they certainly couldn't escape.

"I'm really sorry," Adra said, her gleeful tone implying that she was not actually particularly sorry. "Raven, I feel like having pet vampire is a bit of a liability when you like to wear scarves dyed with blood. Also, you diminish my supply of cleavers. It's really not in my best interest to leave you alive."

"But--but-- I'm awesome! And, um, you're awesome! So we make a good team and stuff!"

"I don't need a team anymore. I need to be the last one standing. You're in my way. As for you, Snow, you were so willing to come to me and tell me stuff Raven probably didn't want me to know. If you're willing to betray the person who converted you, how do I know you won't betray me next?"

"I would never do that, boss!"

"You might be telling the truth. In fact, I think you probably are. However, I don't need to take the risk." Adra shrugged. "Any last words?"

"No!" said Raven. "Absolutely not! I am not done with words. I will come back as a ghost and I will have all of the words, and the mean ones will be directed at you!"

Adra sighed. "Suit yourself." She had ways of getting rid of ghosts. "What about you, Snow? Anything you'd like to say?"

"Yeah," said Snow. "I'm annoyed that I finally got to be evil but didn't get to kill anyone. I really wish you'd let me kill Sil."

Just at that moment, Jai's ghost floated through the door. She just had time to start wailing "Noooooooooo...!" in a very ghost-like manner, but she was too late to save her bandmate.

Adra pulled a lever on the bottom of her desk and sharp metal spikes came out of all parts of both chairs. The wires unwound themselves, leaving the bloodied corpses in plain view.

"...oooooooooooooo...!" Jai continued to wail. Becoming a ghost had improved her wailing skills. She no longer needed to stop and breathe.

Adra enjoyed the sound of the scream. She pulled a pair of white gloves out of her purse and dipped one in Snow's blood, one in Raven's. She smiled and gave the code word to exit.

*******

Snow's ghost woke up to hear her band mate going "...oooooooooo....!" She climbed out of her body (it wasn't really useful now) and tried not to look at the blood.

"Hey Sil."

"Snow?!" Jai ran forward to embrace her bandmate.

"I'm sorry for not killing you."

"It's ok, I forgive you, you nerd."

Raven's ghost was not pleased that she wasn't included in the hug. She stalked off to either find and hug Taia or find and annoy Adra. She was cool with either.

*******

Adra was in the depths of the Sanctuary basement. After several hours of searching, she'd finally found it: the office of the Supreme Galactic Overlord. Killing Fabi would be the blood icing on the death cake.

Adra knocked. "Fabi? I have a question about the rules."

There was no answer. Adra pushed open the door. Fabi's office was full of purple things and glitter. There was also a perch for Henry, the telepathic ninja owl, but he did not seem to be present now. In fact, neither was Fabi. There was a note on the desk.

Gone Fishing.
(Jk, I actually don't really like seafood. Can't tell you where I really am, though. Top secret Supreme Galactic Overlord business. Peace out!)

Adra scowled. "Soon," she thought to herself.

Round 4 Conclusion

Star knew she was going to die

If things were completely random, she'd have two ninths of a chance of survival. There were three people who could kill her, three she could attempt to drain, but one couldn't be drained. There would be one third of a chance that the mafioso would try to kill her times one third of a chance that she'd pick the right person to roleblock. That made up one ninth, and the same logic added another ninth for the vampire.

It wasn't actually random though, of course. Mevolent would be the one sent to kill her, just like with the previous kills. There was nothing she could do about that. Except try to drain the person she thought was Mevolent. If it didn't work, she'd know for sure. She exited her living quarters, carefully locking the door behind her.

*******

A few hours later, she returned, tired. She unlocked the door and turned on the light, only to find the entire living quarters painted purple. The walls, ceilings, furniture, and even the cookies in her cookie jar had been painted a bright shade of heliotrope.

Star's reaction went from "what the ****" to "darn I was looking forward to eating those."

Then she realized they'd even painted the Blu-Tac and her reaction reverted to its previous state.

At least she wasn't dead though. It was almost morning, too. Maybe she could make it...

She barely felt the prick of the dart. It was more like what you'd expect of a bug bite than of a mortal wound.

Star, Magiphage had just enough time to get a glimpse of her killers before blacking out. Adra, Mevolent stepped out from the shadows holding a tiny dart gun. Snow, Mafioso and Raven, Vampire appeared behind her, brandishing brushes and buckets of purple paint.

Snow and Raven gleefully covered Star's corpse in the same shade as the rest of the room. Adra was ok with this. Her scarf was still a lovely shade from Jai's blood.

The game is over and the Mafia have won! Stay tuned for a bonus scene, and then Snow's round will start in a week or something like that.

Complete rolelist--

Mevolent--Adra
Hidden Mafia--Vampire--Raven
Hidden Neutral--Reflection--Dugglyn
Prime Detective--Taia
Healer--Jai
Elemental--Converted to Mafioso--Snow
Elemental--Star
Hidden Sanctuary--Magiphage--Kaden/Star

Round 4 Night 4

Jai scowled, but she couldn't see way out of this, so she decided to just accept her death. "I'll see you on the other side, Star."

"Last time we survived together, this time we die together," Star noted. "I don't really want to die. Can you lot just convert me instead so I still win?"

Raven laughed.

"Is that a yes?" asked Star.

Raven laughed again.

"Can we please just get my death over with?" asked Jai.

"If you insist." Adra gestured to a cleaver. "Hold her down."

The cleaver obeyed, not making eye contact. Adra slit Jai's throat in a swift, graceful movement and pulled a scarf out from her bag. The color from her previous kills had changed as the blood dried. Fresh blood was much prettier, and Jai, Healer had enough of it to do the trick.

Round 4 Day 3

Binoculars were less effective in the dark. This was something that the person in the corridor realized a little too late. Even magical monster-detecting binoculars needed light to actually work well. Never mind. They were pretty sure they knew who the monsters were now.

*******

The figure in the scarf peeked down through a ceiling panel. The doctor was pacing in circles and talking to themselves. "It'll all be my fault if she dies."

Mevolent silently replaced the panel and moved along to another. Someone was pacing in this room too, snapping their fingers over and over again but failing to summon a spark. "Welcome to the dark side, they said. We have cookies, they said. They didn't say some Magiphage would drain me of my magic!"

The next panel revealed the aforementioned Magiphage, also pacing. It's like they all just got FitBits. Mevolent smirked and moved on.

The vampire wasn't pacing. Hm.

Finally, Mevolent reached a panel above the corridor. They could hear their target approaching

*******

The monster hunter was looking right, left, forward, backward, off into the distance. Not up. Mevolent waited a few moments and then dropped, landing directly in front of them.

Fay, Monster Hunter shot first, but Mevolent's magical scarf bathed in the blood of their enemies absorbed the impact. Fay wasn't wearing a scarf. Too bad for Fay.

IT IS NOW DAY 3

Comment moderation has been turned off. The Mafia have majority now, so they have won. They can vote one of the townies to hang, and then they will kill the other in the night. The comment section here is still open for discussion and stuff, but there isn't going to be a trial phase because the Mafia is in control now and they are dissolving the justice system. [nods]

Three votes needed to hang someone.

Round 4 Night 3

The votes were in, and Star, Elemental was the unlucky soul to fall victim to what many of the town thought was justice. A cleaver held her down while another one swung his scythe at her head.

Everyone winced at the disgusting squelching noise, including Star. She blinked.

"Omj, what?" Her head seemed to be still attached. She looked around. Kaden's head lay on the floor.

The Supreme Galactic Commander appeared and waved off the abnormality. "He was inactive. Stuff like that happens if you only post once in a day phase and then go a day and a night without posting or giving me an explanation." She removed Kaden's nametag and pinned it to Star's shirt. "Congratulations. You've been either promoted, demoted, converted to the dark side, or some combination of all that. You'll figure it out. Check your email."

With that, the Supreme Galactic Commander vanished and everyone realized that they were capable of movement. They shuffled off to bed, leaving Star alone in the grand hall. Nobody said anything to her--what do you say to somebody you just had executed?

Star looked down at her name tag. She was not changing her name to Kaden. That would be almost as weird as the somehow-surviving-decapitation thing. She pulled a sharpie out of her pocket, crossed out Kaden's name, and then wrote her own on the side. Finally, she exited stage left to go figure out what her new role was.

IT IS NOW NIGHT 3

The Mafia have the same number as the town now. If they still do tomorrow morning, or if they have a majority, they will have won. However, it is still technically possible for the town to at least procrastinate loss with a bit of luck and/or intelligence.

Comment moderation has been turned on. You have until Wednesday, July 20th at 10 AM Pacific time (6PM in the UK) to submit your night actions. The night may end early if everyone submits something by the deadline. If you don't wish to do anything, please submit a "do nothing" so the game can move forward more quickly.

Round 4 Day 2

Somebody was bored. They had nothing particularly useful to do, so they rearranged every aspect of their living quarters, so nothing was the same as before, except the light fixtures, which couldn't be moved without tearing holes in the ceiling. When they were finished, they checked the clock. Still only 4am. To move everything back and fill more time, or to leave everything where it was and confuse the hell out of people?
They decided to do the latter. They took a break from rearranging and wandered into the community kitchen.
"Let's see... What sort of snack shall I have?" They mumbled aloud to themselves.
As it turned out, they were the snack. The vampire pounced.

*******

An Elemental has been converted to the Mafia by the Vampire.

*******

Someone else had been in the kitchen, unbeknownst to both snacker and snack. They didn't get a good look at the vampire, but they saw the newly-converted mafioso plain as day.
"That is very suspicious," they remarked to themselves, cuing mental suspense music.
As they walked down the hallway, the shadows seemed to reach out. Time for a mental cello solo.
The figure in the scarf didn't know that they stabbed Taia, Prime Detective at exactly the moment her mental cello hit the final dramatic note. Or did they? After all no one knew how much Mevolent could be capable of.
Mevolent sat by where Taia had fallen. Her blood was a very lovely shade of scarlet. They removed their scarf and dipped it in.
"A scarf dyed with the blood of my enemies. Perfect. It's a pity I can't wear it in public. Soon. Soon they'll all be dead and I'll be wearing a scarf."

IT IS NOW DAY 2

Comment moderation has been turned off, and action results are being emailed out. You may use this space to talk and try to figure out who the Mafia members are. You are welcome to share any results you have from your night actions, and you are welcome to reveal your role, but be warned that doing so may make you the next target. If you think someone is the Mafia, you can vote for them to be hanged by typing "castvote [player name]." If someone reaches the majority, they will have 24 hours to defend themselves before the vote locks and they are hanged. The majority needed to send someone to trial today is 4. This is the same number needed to skip a day, which you can do by typing "castvote skip."

If the day is not skipped and no one is voted to trial, you have until Sunday, July 17th at 10 PM Pacific Time (6 AM Monday in the UK) to discuss.

Round 4 Night 2

At the end of the day, a bunch of people said stuff and some of them were probably lying, while others were telling the truth. However, no one was certain enough about which was which  to put forth any specific target for hanging. There was nothing substantial, nothing concrete, nothing that was enough to save them. Nobody had truly expected to be successful so soon, but everyone had hoped deep down, and that hope fizzled out with the last of the sunlight. The Sanctuary members went to bed a bit grumpier and a bit more paranoid.

Round 4 Day 1

As soon as everyone had gone to bed, a dark figure slipped out of the shadows and silently strolled down the hall as though they were on some sort of mundane errand and had all day to complete it. They stopped in front of a full-length mirror and tapped on the glass.

"Anybody home?" A whisper in a voice that sounded vaguely like a celebrity. Which celebrity...? The person on the other side of the mirror wasn't sure. They stayed hidden. They knew they couldn't possibly be needed yet.

The dark figure outside pulled off their scarf and wrapped it around their fist. A faint glow of light reflected off the mirror from a doorway down the hall, illuminating the murderous expression on the dark figure's face.

The person in the mirror decided to play for time. "How be you? How be you's eyes?"

The only response was a fist. Bits of broken mirror fell to the floor. Dugglyn, Reflection, watched helplessly as her gateway to the real world shattered and her only chance at existence with it.

It took the other Sanctuary members a little while to notice someone was missing, as Dugglyn was not in the habit of going to breakfast, and the janitorial staff had swept up the glass. However, a detail-oriented Junior Administrator by the name of Economical noticed the absence of the mirror and quickly worked out what it meant.

He was then burdened with the task of delivering the message. He called everyone together into the meeting room. "S-sorry to burst your bub-bubble, but... There was a murder last night."

Economical slipped out of the room to let everyone glance at other suspiciously, which they did.

Round 4 Night 1

The Sanctuary halls were abuzz with nervous chatter. Rumors spread amongst the crowd, rumors of evil growing within the Sanctuary, waiting to strike. Mages tossed and turned restlessly, scared to go to sleep lest they never wake. Others skipped sleep entirely to work toward finding the killers, but would their efforts succeed? Maybe eventually.

Round 4--Skulduggery-themed!

This round of mini-Mafia will have a Skulduggery theme, but some of the roles will be effectively the same, just with Skulduggery-world titles. The stories will also be Skulduggerish. Sign up below and tell your friends and stuff!

Here's the rolelist right now. I may post a shorter one to limit the number of roles that could appear in the game.

SANCTUARY: Goal is to find and kill all Mafia.
Elemental-- (akin to citizen) No special powers.
Prime Detective-- (akin to cop) Can investigate one per night. Receives a verdict of suspicious or unsuspicious depending on whether or not their target is Mafia-aligned.
Healer-- (akin to Doctor) Can heal one person per night. That person can't be killed or converted by a vampire.
Necromancer-- (similar to twin, with some differences) Can talk to other Necromancers. At any point in the game, the Necromancers may decide as a group to invite one dead player into their chat.
Teleporter-- Can switch two people. Any actions targeting one will target the other.
Gist-- Can chose to transform, killing who visits them that night (good or evil). Limit 2 transformations per game.
Magiphage-- (akin to Roleblocker) Can drain someone of their magic, rendering them unable to perform any actions that night. Can also carry out the night's kill, but won't be able to drain anyone that night.
Sensitive-- Can visit one person per night. Will learn whether that person is sanctuary, Mafia, or neutral, even for roles like the Godfather who are usually immune to investigation or people who are framed. However, if the Sensitive is visited by anyone, they will lose their concentration and learn the alignment of the visitor instead (but not the visitor's identity). If they are visited by two people, they will learn nothing.
Grand Mage-- Can reveal self as the Grand Mage by emailing the Supreme Galactic Overlord any time during the day. The Overlord will then announce to everyone that this player is the Grand Mage. Once announced, their vote counts double, but the majority needed to lynch stays the same.
Metalmage-- (has weapons) Can choose to defend one player per night. Will die with that player's attacker. Can defend self and die with own attacker. If they defend someone else, that player will survive.
Monster Hunter-- Can take the law into their own hands and choose one player to kill during the night. Limit two per game, can't do anything night one. Also can't shoot two days in a row

MAFIA: Goal is to kill all the Sanctuary.
Mevolent-- (akin to Godfather) The Mafia's head honcho. Immune to cop investigations and roleblocks and can't be killed at night, except by the metalmage defending someone or by visiting the gist when they are on alert, or by being switched with their own target. (Immune to Monster Hunter kills and being bused with other Mafia members' targets and Killer Supreme. Cannot die by the hand of anyone possessed by a remnant).
Mafioso-- No special powers beyond killing
Vampire-- Can convert one person to the Mafia. The converted person will become a mafioso. Limit one conversion per game. Can also carry out the night's kill, but won't be able to transform someone the same night.
Necromancer Turncoat-- (evil twin?) Same abilities as a normal Necromancer, but secretly working against their Necromancer brethren. Can only carry out the Mafia kill if the other Mafia members are dead.
Shunter-- (basically the evil version of teleporter, but I wanted to call them something different) Can switch two people. Any actions targeting one will target the other. Can also carry out the night's kill, but won't be able to transport anyone that night.

Leech-- (akin to Evil Roleblocker) Can drain someone of their magic, rendering them unable to
perform any actions that night. Can also carry out the night's kill, but won't be able to drain anyone that night.
Illusionist-- (akin to Framer) Can make an innocent person look guilty or a guilty person look innocent to cop investigations.

NEUTRAL: Goals vary
"Killer Supreme"-- Can attempt to murder someone each night. Has a 1 in 4 chance of succeeding, with the odds becoming slimmer each time someone dies. Not Mafia-aligned, but shows up as "suspicious" when investigated. Has the same odds of being immune to a night kill. Goal is to kill someone, anyone. If the Killer Supreme is the last one standing, they get ultimate bragging rights. Can win with town or Mafia if they have already killed someone, otherwise the game will continue until the Killer Supreme kills or is killed.
Remnant-- Can possess one player per night, and select a target. The player will perform their action on the Remnant's target rather than their original target. If the person has two targets in the same action (i.e. Teleporter), the first target will be replaced with the remnant's target, but the second will stay the same. Wants the town to be dead and wins with the Mafia, but does not know who the Mafia members are.
Reflection-- Can take on the role of any dead person. Wins by fulfilling that role's requirements. There will be an announcement when the lost soul takes a role, but the soul's identity will not be revealed. If there is a vampire in the game and the vampire converts someone, the Reflection will have the option to take that person's old role, even though they're not exactly dead.

UPDATE: Because there are so many roles, it was necessary to create an order of operations. It just occurred to me that I should probably share this with you.

What comes next?

Do y'all want more normal-ish games like that last one, or 5-player cop-based games like round 1, or a normal-ish version except the roles are Skulduggery-themed (I've been working on a list for that)?

Also--I'm gonna open up the floor to anyone else who'd like to host one, either the next game or the one after. (I'd rather have it be the one after because I can work hosting around my travel schedule, but I don't think I'd be able to play until after I get back. However, if anyone is super eager to host but might not have time later, you can go next.) If you're interested in hosting one, comment, and I can work out an order.

Even if you're not interested in hosting, you're welcome to leave a comment with any input you have for future games.

Thank you all so much!

Round 3 Finale

Raven grumbled and complained to the end. "But guyyyyssss! I'm not the Mafia. It's Star! Jai! Henry? Oh, come on. That owl looks SUPER suspicious."

Henry screeched indignantly and ripped off his fake mustache that he spontaneously grew while executing Taia.

"See? He had a fake mustache! He must be lying to y--" Raven stopped. Henry was in her face now, given her the evil owl eyes.

"You've been voted to hang. Your time is up." Henry tried to pretend he wasn't pleased about this. He didn't take kindly to being accused.

Raven scowled. "Wait no! There are four of us here. You, me, Jai, Star. Only Jai and Star voted. That's not a majority."

"I'm too cool to be classified in the same category as you mainstream mortals." Henry said. "I guess it's cool that so many of you have telepathic capabilities though, as it makes it sound like I'm actually talking like a normal person even though I'm not. Actually, maybe that's my new TARDIS translating. That would make sense. It'd also explain why I spoke French yesterday. Je ne parle pas français. Wait what? Oh yeah. Right. I was executing you. Goodbye now."

Henry dropped Raven into a pit and told the zombie caterpillars that she was the one who'd killed Dug. They crawled all over her, sniffing for traces of Dugglyn's blood. Sure enough, it was there. The caterpillars were quite pleased. It had been a while since they'd been allowed to eat a person.

To her credit, Raven, Evil Roleblocker cackled evilly and yelled "vote Raven for president!" as often as she screamed.

The next day, there was time to give everyone a funeral. Jai, Star, Henry and the Supreme Galactic Commander stood over the graves dug by the Commander's minions.

Everyone said something about everyone.

"I know I didn't trust her, but she actually did a lot for the town and I'll never forget it."

"She was cool sometimes when she wasn't killing people."

"It's too bad he didn't live longer. He had so much life ahead of him."

"Thanks for the free TARDIS, bro. Owl Docta 4 Lyfeeeeeeeee!"

"She fought admirably until the bitter end."

Jai cleared her throat. "Dugglyn Carzania.. What really is there to say? The crazy pink fluff ball of energy that came bursting into our lives and has left us shell shocked ever since. I won't pretend I didn't loathe her occasionally. Sisters fight and we are no acception, although I'd like to think that our fighting was never extreme. She'd sacrafice herself for me, she said so herself.. Unfortunately she didn't have to, and I wasn't there in time to do so for her. Guess it's too late to say it now? I can hardly wind back time and save her. Yeah.."

Jai looked up, took a breath, and looked down again. "Everybody needs their rock and I especially need a rock whenever I'm going through this game, and ever though it was only three nights and two days, Dugglyn kept me sane and stopped me from stressing out. During the pre trial and the trial it was her arguments that kept me from hanging by a rope and I'm thankful for that, she's the reason the town has won. Too bad she can't bask in the glory. This should have been her third win, instead it's her first loss. I like to think that since we're telepathic twins in a way she still has won, that part of her remains inside my head and that she will at least get carried forwards to her glorious third victory with us."

Jai paused and looked away. "When I found out she was dead.. It stopped. My heart that is, just for a bit. The idea that such a vibrant light had just been snatched away, bright eyes and a bright mind snuffled out forever.. I froze up slightly and.. Anger and regret. Dugglyn shouldn't have been the person to die tonight, but in all my panicking I didn't have the foresight to tell her that I didn't want her gone, that I need her and that she, if anyone, should be the one to live. If avoiding my death has lead to my sisters death then that isn't right, and it shan't go unpunished. I love you Dug.. I'm sorry it's too late my wild banshee ninja. May you rest in peace. See y'all real soon."

Silence for a moment.

"Even with all the regret that I have for killing those that I loved. I would do it all again just to spend more time with the living you. If only I had commented first so that I was left hanging from those eco friendly gallows when the sun set last night. I would give the world just to fight good with you just one more time."

Star looked over and frowned. "Raven, you're dead. It doesn't make sense for dead people to give eulogies to other dead people."

"Well I'm the ghost president, so I can do whatever the hell I want! See you later, puny humans!" Raven floated off into the darkness to join her fellow Mafia ghost. The sound of a ghostly harmonica echoed into the night.

The supreme overlord watched them go, and signaled for some of her minions to follow them. If their plan to overthrow her ever came to anything, she could smite them easily. However, there'd been too much death already to kill the already dead just now.

Round 3 Day 3

The townsfolk went to bed, pleased that they'd managed to catch one of the villains. However, one of them would not wake up the next morning.

That was the way things worked in Mafia town. You'd start to get ahead, but people would still end up dying. It sucked, for those people. The mafioso found it fun. One last murder before the gallows. Better make it a good one.

Jai returned home to find her door hanging ajar. She grabbed a large stick and hesitantly peeked in the doorway. "Hello?"

Her house was empty, as far as she could tell. The place had been torn apart a bit. It looked like someone had done as much destruction as they could in five minutes.

"I'm not scared of you," Jai lied.

No one answered.

The back door was open, too, and there was a note taped to it with fluorescent pink duct tape. Jai approached it cautiously and squinted, trying to make out the words in the dying light.

You kill my sister, I kill yours.

"No!" she yelled. "No no no no no no no!"

She ran over to her twin's house, but it was too late.

Dugglyn, Twin, lay in a pool of her own blood. When she saw her sister, she made a feeble attempt at sitting up.

"Save your energy," Jai whispered. "You'll make it through this."

"No," Dugglyn said. "I don't think I will. The doctor's dead and I... I'm losing a lot of blood."

"Stay with me, please..."

"Don't hate yourself... For not being... The one to die... You know I'd... Sacrifice myself... To save you... I love you, Jai." Dugglyn exhaled, and her soul flew out of her body into some sort of afterlife if you believe in that.

Jai watched it go. Because she could communicate telepathically with her twin, she could sense her soul, and she knew that Dugglyn was at peace.

It wasn't enough, though.

Somebody was going to pay for this.

Round 3 Night 3

After 24 hours, the verdict hadn't changed. Taia was brought up to the eco-friendly gallows.

"Do you have any last words?" Henry asked politely.

Taia nodded. "You're making a horrible mistake," she whispered, a single dramatic tear rolling down her cheek. When she realized that they would show no mercy, she dropped the act. She pulled her hand free to wipe the tear away and grinned. "You're still all going to die."

Henry spontaneously grew a mustache. "Après-vous, Mademoiselle DeMars."

A few seconds later, it was over. The body of Taia, Mafioso, dangled lifelessly from the rope.

Round 3 Day 2

Once the night was dark, a certain person returned to a certain phone booth-like transportation device to grab some supplies. The aforementioned person set out again, towards the center of town. They peeked into a window and nodded. Their services would not be needed today.

Upon returning home, Snow Stormberg, Doctor, immediately noticed something was amiss. Her TARDIS was sending distress signals across the space-time continuum, and the air conditioning was adjusted three degrees lower than she liked it.

"Who's there?" she called.

A masked Mafia member appeared from the shadows. "So good to see you."

Snow scowled. "You've made the TARDIS upset. What do you have to say for yourself?"

"I think I'll turn the question around to you. What do you have to say? These will be your last words, after all."

"I will always remember when the Doctor was me."

The Mafia member nodded. "That'll do." They pulled out a gun and fired three times. Just. Like. That.

Snow blinked and she was dead.

There are 5 people left, so a hanging would need a 3-vote majority. As in the previous game, there will be a 24-hour "trial phase," to give the accused time to defend themselves.
