Round 3 Day 1

At least one person did not go home when the sun set. They lurked in the shadows, notebook in hand. Nobody came to visit their target for the first few hours, but then they saw a shape.
“Interesting.” If their target wound up dead, they would know who to blame. They scribbled a few notes and then looked up to see someone standing over them with a knife.

Too late, Kaden, Busybody realized that the Mafia hadn't come for his target--they'd come for him. He tried to run, but only made it a few steps before the knife impaled itself in his leg. He crumpled to the ground. The mafioso removed the knife and stabbed him again, this time in the chest. A few stabs later, their job was done. They scooped up his body and the notebook, which had fallen from his bloody hand.

The next morning, the town woke to the smell of smoke. The gallows was burning, and Kaden’s body burned with it. Somewhere in the crowd, the mafioso refrained from smiling, but it was difficult. The notebook with the only incriminating evidence had been the first to burn.

It is now DAY 1!
Comment moderation has been turned off, and results are being emailed out. You can now use this post to talk and figure out who is suspicious. You're welcome to share information if you have it, but be aware that if you reveal yourself as a powerful role, you could be the next target.

There are 6 people left, so a hanging would need a 4-vote majority.

If you vote, please type the word "castvote" in your comment so I can use Control-F

To vote, type "unvote"

To revote, type "castvote" again but with a different player's name.

Rip Kaden D:

Okay, so why would the Mafia have chosen to kill Kaden? I think it will be important to consider past games. Speaking from experience, the first person killed is fairly random.

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

Although in this case it might have been Kaden because he is the least known by most of us meaning
A) the Mafia can't know if he's very good or not and
B) they don't have to immediately start with killing someone they know well

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

Also it was the mafioso and not the hidden Mafia member who killed Kaden. That might be helpful?

Star Inkbright said...

Well, I'm a cop and I was role blocked last night.

After only one death and four comments, I have absolutely no ideas. :P

Dugglyn Carzainia said...

I agree Jai, the only exception is Raven knew him and so she might have an insight. But I do agree that he was most likely chosen because most people don't know him well

Dugglyn Carzainia said...

Okay, IF Star is actually a cop that'd mean the other Mafia is an evil role blocker

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

Perhaps this is a silly query..

If you're the cop star, why would you admit it like that? That would make you a target as taking the cop out would leave us blind to the Mafia. And even if it didn't get you killed the hidden Mafia could then target you to prevent us from knowing anything.

Perhaps I'm wrong but it seems foolish to admit that you're the cop.

Presuming that either the hidden Mafia or the two remaining hidden townies are a role blocker. Although if the roleblocker is the townie then the night stop targeting you now..

Dugglyn Carzainia said...

Oh true, Jai. Hmmmm, I want to know what other people have to say!

Star Inkbright said...

@Jai: *shrugs* Believe what you wish.

I think the roleocker could easily either be the townie or the Mafia. If they target me again tonight, they most likely aren't the townie.

The One Who Waltzed Matilda said...

my first thought when I saw it was Kaden killed was that it's probably Raven, because wasn't he her friend? but Jai-s theory of the mafia just killing the person they don't know makes sense, so...

The One Who Waltzed Matilda said...

also, I feel like thenother 2 hidden townke roles may be the twins?? idk. I guess we could have 2 of the others...

Raven Astracae said...

I just don't know why Star would come out as cop day 1 with no information unless she was confident she wouldn't die.

Raven Astracae said...

Like if you are the cop it benefits the mafia because now they start narrowing down choices for who are what roles.

And if you aren't the cop, and you're the mafia, it benefits the mafia because you introduce your cover story early on.

So either way, the "i'm the cop" thing kinda benefits the mafia.

But yeah...you might be the cop, idk.

Hello. Just a little reminder to avoid deleting comments when possible. It could seem suspicious. If there's a double post, I can remove it.

Dugglyn Carzainia said...

I know what you mean Snow

like, it could go either way; Kaden was killed because he's Raven's friend or because people don't know him as well.

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

If she is the Mafia she's done a smart thing because although she has aroused suspicion we aren't likely to hang her lest she actually is a cop. We've been left in a sticky situation that's difficult to traverse.

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

Although in the last game Star didn't admit who she was until very near the end which lead to the townies in that game winning.

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

Wait.. If we did hang someone today and they turned out to be a townie and then someone died in the next night cycle then that means there would be two good and two bad left, meaning the majority vote would be three.. And the Mafia wouldn't choose to hang one of their own. In that scenario the Mafia would win.
If a good person died tonight the majority vote would drop to three which would still require all Townes to be in agreement about the Mafia because if we don't vote right tomorrow (or don't vote) I think it would also be game over unless the Doctor healed the right person and got lucky.. Um.. We may have a problem guys. The odds seem somewhat stacked against us.

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

In the first scenario the Mafia would be able to kill someone in the night cycle after the one coming up to cut it down to one good and then lynch said good because majority vote would be two.
It's quite alarming that the Mafia would have the ability to lynch one of us despite the fact it's meant to be them who get lynched.

Raven Astracae said...

Lynching today would only be beneficial to the mafia because it would have to be some random guess and with a 4/6 chance of hitting a townie it would be irresponsible.

But Jai is right, if we then also don't lynch tomorrow, there's a very high chance that the mafia wins. Then again, I'm not sure if the odds of the doctor healing the target would be about equal to the odds of the mafia playing a really strong game to lynch a townie. So idk. This is tricky.

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

Well it wouldn't only be beneficial to the Mafia because there is a chance we'd manage to lynch on of the Mafia, however it would be irresponsible because we don't know enough about who everyone is to make a decent guess, but at the same time if we don't lynch somebody we hurt our chances of winning to some extent..

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

At the moment I'm thinking Snow may be the Mafia, however that is just gut instinct.

The One Who Waltzed Matilda said...

Thanks for the vote of confidence.

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

I think I mainly think that just because this is your third time playing and you weren't the Mafia the first two times, even though the probability of being Mafia in them doesn't affect the probability of being Mafia now.

The One Who Waltzed Matilda said...

fair enough

Silente Tempest (Jai) - St Of Sinners said...

Overall there's a 44.4% chance that you wouldn't have been a Mafia in any of the three games so far.

Dugglyn Carzainia said...

Taia also hasn't commented yet...

Raves said...

What's her time zone?

Taia, Raisin, A Good Bear :) said...

Hey hey, sorry, I'm just reading up now!!
(had to go to a thing yesterday and I got home late, so I slept through most of the morning. :P)

Looking @ the previous comments, I agree that Star is looking little suspicious, but... I'm not sure she's shifty enough for a lynching, yet, at least. She has provided some actual information (assuming she's being truthful, we now know that there's at least one roleblocker out there?), and Jai's got a point about not wanting to slaughter any townies.
But
Idk guys I don't really like the odds either way :/

Dugglyn Carzainia said...

Okay, so while Star coming out as the cop could potentially make her a target it could also alert the doctor to protect her. But this wouldn't prevent her from being role blocked again, if there is a role blocker. So it could actually protect the town.

She could also be be part of the Mafia and if she says that she is a cop it helps protect her against the rest of us while also possibly drawing out the real cop. Now, no one has said anything about actually being the cop which is smart of them if they are actually being the cop, but if they were wouldn't they subtly try to get Star lynched because they know she's lying? But now the Mafia could come and say they're actually the cop and then we'd have some troubles.

Taia, Raisin, A Good Bear :) said...

Right, Dugglyn. But if they tried to get Star lynched and she's mafia, that might not end very well for her accuser?? So a real cop might still be keeping quiet for safety's sake, idk.

Dugglyn Carzainia said...

Exactly. And that's why it's probably a good thing if Star's not the cop that the real cop hasn't said anything. But then again Star could be the real cop

Star Inkbright said...

Um. You're all debating about me and as such, I don't really know what to say. :P

Dugglyn Carzainia said...

Well Star, you're the only person who has said their role XD

Taia, Raisin, A Good Bear :) said...

Sorry Star xD

Also @Raven: I'm British, for the record. ^^
